Ivindo Iron Launches the First Phase of Its Education Uplift Program in OgoouƩ-Ivindo

Ivindo Iron, represented by his CEO, Ed KALAJZIC, recently delivered the first equipment under the Education Uplift program, part of the company’s Community Investment Plan. The event took place in the presence of provincial authorities — including the Governor, the Municipal Delegate, canton chiefs and parents — demonstrating strong community support for this initiative aimed at enhancing education in Ogooué-Ivindo.
Strengthening Schools and Celebrating Excellence
Ivindo Iron provided multifunction photocopiers to four secondary schools and to the Provincial Academic Directorate. Ten merit awards were also presented to the best students in the CEP, BEPC and Baccalaureate exams, including laptops, scientific calculators and educational books.
A dedicated Female Scientific Excellence Award was introduced to encourage more young women to pursue STEM studies.
Improving Learning Conditions
Over the coming days, 300 new school desks will be delivered to Nzembote Primary School in Makokou, as well as to schools in the Batouala and Bonamaza districts.
Local authorities and Ivindo Iron teams also visited the chemistry and physics laboratories, currently without equipment. The Managing Director announced the complete renovation of these facilities to ensure better learning conditions.
A Memorable Moment
The ceremony was highlighted by a remarkable 9th-grade student who translated the award recipients’ speech into English - a strong symbol of the program’s impact on academic ambition.
A Message of Purpose
The Deputy Provincial Director reminded attendees of the deeper meaning behind this initiative:
“Some actions transcend material value to become symbols. Through this donation, the outstretched hand of a company meets the mission of a ministry: serving youth and shaping the future. By offering these school desks, you are not just filling a gap - you are giving children the space where they will learn to write their own story.”
š¤ With Education Uplift, Ivindo Iron reaffirms its commitment to offering dignified, modern and supportive learning environments for the youth of Ogooué-Ivindo.
