As part of our continued commitment to community development and improving the living conditions of local communities around the Belinga Project, Ivindo Iron recently launched its ‘Resources for Health’ community investment project.
The ‘Resources for Health’ Project was initiated to align with the findings a detailed community needs assessment. Whereby Local community and governments were engaged to distribute much needed medical resources to seven health facilities in the Ogooué-Ivindo Province.
The project was launched in the presence of the Governor of the Ogooué-Ivindo, the Director of Cabinet of the Ministry of Health, provincial authorities, medical staff, and over 60 dignitaries and community members in the regional capital of Makokou.
This initiative reflects the identified community needs and- is part of a collaborative approach with the Ministry of Health and local authorities.
The donation includes over 125 cartons of medicines, essential equipment, laboratory and maternity supplies to health centres in the local villages of Batouala, Mvadhy, Mayibouth 1 and 2, Nze Vatican, Massaha and Bombenda. Together these health centers service over 4,000 people.
One of the highlights of this donation is equipping the Batouala Health Center with a hematology analyzer and a cardiotocograph aimed at strengthening diagnostic and patient care capabilities.
“Although we are still in the exploration phase the well-being of local communities remains a top priority for Ivindo Iron. This donation is tangible proof of our commitment to building, alongside the authorities and the people, a more prosperous future”, said Ed KALAJZIC, CEO of Ivindo Iron.
